We live in a suburban area, but only blocks from the city’s very urban downtown. Our city has 1/2 million people. We added chicks from a hatchery. Over time we picked our favorites, sold some, then sold the last couple of extras once they all started laying. Three chickens are the perfect number for our small garden and the families needs.
