Here are 7 essential things you must consider when designing or building a house. Lacking any of these points is very likely end in disaster for you or your Coop or your chickens. 1. Bye Laws Before even begin to consider the design or construction of a poultry house, you should check the local bye laws for any restrictions or license which may be necessary. This will vary from country to country and even between states, cities and villages. 2. Appearance Consider the appearance of your house. Remember that if you are very lucky and have a large room separated from the earth and your neighbors will almost certainly be able to see your coop. Even if your chickens May not worry too much about appearances, the neighbors will be much happier and more accepted if your hen house is aesthetically pleasing. A good appearance is also indicative of good quality construction. If you are looking to buy a car, you would think a smart, clean cars with no bumps reflects a well cared for vehicle and you wait until the engine is in a similar state. This is true for all, including poultry. If it looks badly done and poorly maintained, it is likely to reflect on his performance as a safe haven and healthy for your chickens. 3. Many people size you may say that size does not matter, but in the case of a poultry house is certainly is. You will need to consider how many chickens you intend to maintain and possibly allow some growth of your herd. This may need to be driven by your available space, if you have a small yard, for example, but you should never compromise your needs chickens. If you have a small yard you may need to keep chickens for less! 4. The location of the location of your house chicken is very important. Consider your local weather i. E. prevailing winds. Ensure that all runoff from shelters or homes will not meet your coop. Your chicken will also want a lot of ventilation and light to ensure it is incorporated in the design and not limited by location. Not much of interest to a window if it is 5 inches of a wall cast! 5. Protection housing with a main function, and for keeping your chickens healthy and safe. You should consider any threat to your chickens and ensure that protection is integrated into the design of chicken house. Foxes, rats, cats and other predators can make shorter work of a flock. For example, increasing your co above ground may help protect against certain predators and ensure chicken wire is secure and cover all openings appropriate. Rain and wind can threaten your herd to ensure that the eaves are sufficient to prevent water dripping into the doors or windows. 6. Food and water is crucial to the health of any animal is the flow and water regime. Chickens need a daily food and water. They are not like the parrots that can be given a magazine of great food and water and leave for a few days or even a week. A careful examination of food and water vessels and placement is essential. If you just put food and water bowls on the ground, they will quickly become soiled by feces and is a sure recipe for sick chickens. Also make sure you have easy access to food and water you will need to get to them every day. 7. The critical review of final cleaning of your designs homemade chicken if you want to make your coop a success, is cleaning. Chickens are a lot of disorder and the Coop will require regular cleaning. If you do not understand the easy cleaning in your design, you will save up for a lot of hard work useless. I. E. Ensure the floor Coop is lifted from the ground and allow both parties to be completely removed leaving a free and clear indoors. It also must be considered when locating your house. With careful consideration of all the above 7 points you can avoid most self-made disasters that may strike the new owners of chicken house and stay happy, healthy chickens and productive.
